THREE teenage boys had to be rescued by the town's new inshore lifeboat on Wednesday night after they became trapped by the tide at Saltwick Nab. Humber Coastguard was alerted at around 7.30pm and Whitby’s coastguard team observed the trio, who were at the base of the cliffs, while the lifeboat crew sped to their rescue. The boys, who were 15 and from Whitby, were taken back to Scotch Head where they made their way safely ashore. Published Date: 01 June 2007 |
